MOOSE in the CITY: fashion & design concept store in Antwerp

This fashion and design concept store in Antwerp opened in the summer of 2011 and was one of the first to bring Scandinavian fashion and lifestyle to the city. Today you will find clothing for women, men and children, alongside interior pieces, books, care products, plants and gifts.

The MOOSE story revolves around contrasts that work surprisingly well together: city and nature, craft and design, modern minimalism and pure authenticity. In 2013 the shop grew to 550 square metres, with fashion and design in the lead and gadgets and books completing the mix. In autumn 2020, after a critical self-assessment, came a major shift. Since then, the team checks every brand against four questions: who made the product, with which materials, where was it made and how did the production process work. Brands that have no answer make way. One fixed condition remains a ‘sense of beauty’. MOOSE in the CITY is an Antwerp concept store that selects fashion and design on who, what, where and how, without compromising on style.

Those choices show in the shop itself. During the renovation, MOOSE got a counter made of clay, new furniture made of remelted plastic or solid wood, and part of the old furniture found a place in the new layout. Webshop orders are shipped in boxes from earlier deliveries, and in busy periods the team asks the neighbours for their empty boxes. At the Quooker tap you can refill your water bottle for free while you shop, and if you forgot yours, there are drinking bottles for sale. If you want to tackle your interior, you can design and order your own modular String storage system in the shop or online. The range mixes well-known names with smaller, newer labels. You can also pay with Belgian ecocheques and the COSH! gift card.
