All textiles are processed by Klippan in their own factory in Sweden. We know from the lambswool that it comes from New Zealand. Where the other types of wool come from, such as the Merino, cashmere, Gotland and the eco wool, is not exactly mentioned.

One of the materials Klippan uses is eco wool. To obtain good wool, many sheep farms treat their animals with pesticides. This is because vermin can crawl into the fur of the sheep and affect the wool. After years of research, some sheepfarmers came to the conclusion that it is not necessary to treat their sheep several times with pesticides. This gave rise to eco-wool. They treat the newborn sheep once with the necessary product and that should suffice for his whole life. The environment in which the sheep live has also not been treated with dangerous chemicals and antibiotics. The brand also uses recycled wool.

The brand also uses organic cotton and linen materials, which are both natural and biodegradable materials. The organic and eco products also ensure the use of non-toxic chemicals for dying and finishing.

The brand has also reduced their energy usage by 50% in the last 5 years, and their packaging is also now biodegradable.

At Klippan every piece of mono-material is made. Recycling their home textiles could therefore be possible after a long lifespan.

Klippan conducts production in Sweden, and sourcing in New Zealand, which makes the length of the chain quite long. They, however, do not mention their transportation methods, which makes a huge difference on their footprint, regardless of the length of the supply chain.
