WORKING CONDITIONS AND LIVING WAGES
Dedicated works with 9 certified direct suppliers, and even provides consumers with a traceability widget to allow them to see the factories involved throughout the manufacturing process. These producers are based in China and India.
Dedicated is proud to only work with suppliers that share their values, and are properly certified according to the brand’s standards. This is guaranteed through regular inspections of factories by certified auditors, to ensure compliance with all requirements. Production is then authenticated by ‘transaction certificates’, to attest that they have been manufactured in accordance with their high standards.
To enforce ethical production standards, Dedicated’s supply chain holds three certification standards. The GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifies that a product has the recycled content it claims to have. The SA8000 Standard ensures that working conditions meet the requirements of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation conventions. In addition, WRAP audits factories for ethical and safe manufacturing.
According to their website, Dedicated also works with Fairtrade cotton. Fairtrade ensures that farmers are paid fairly for their work, and invests into the social infrastructure of farming communities. Moreover, Dedicated is certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards). Alongside ensuring the organic status of cotton, GOTS inspects factories to ensure safe working conditions, no discrimination, and no child labour.
MATERIALS
- Linen
- Organic cotton- certified by an IFOAM standard; majority of cotton garments GOTS certified in 2024
- TENCEL Lyocell
- Hemp
- Recycled polyester made of recycled PET bottles
- Recycled polyamide and wool made from post and pre-consumer waste
Dedicated claims to use organic, natural, or recycled fibres for the vast majority of their garments. A small percentage of conventional elastane (up to 5%), and polyamide (up to 13%) is used for some products to enhance their performance.
Dedicated primarily uses nature-based materials. Their most used fibre is cotton, which is always certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), and sometimes by Fairtrade or Regenerative Organic Certified cotton too! This ensures that less intensive farming practices are used, requiring less water and energy and even reducing CO2 emissions. They also use TENCEL Lyocell, an artificial fibre made from wood pulp, and started using linen for some of their garments in 2024.
Where manmade synthetic materials are used, Dedicated is committed to utilising recycled materials. Only 100% recycled polyester is used, produced from recycled PET bottles! The polyamide in their socks is also made from recycled fibres, whilst the wool mixes are made from post-consumer or factory waste materials.
PACKAGING
Dedicated ensures that their items are packaged in recycled or certified materials. The majority of packaging used by suppliers is poly-bags made from 100% recycled content.
WATER USAGE & CHEMICALS
Dedicated recognises that whilst recycled polyester has many environmental benefits as opposed to virgin polyester, it still sheds microplastics. They therefore provide detailed consumer guidance on how to properly wash and care for garments, to help mitigate this. In particular, they suggest using a Guppy friend; a laundry bag that is designed to capture microplastics emitted when washing synthetic fibres!
The GOTS certification for all the cotton used by Dedicated ensures that no toxic chemicals are used in its manufacturing. Dedicated also reduces chemical usage in other aspects of their clothing line, for example in their outwear. A water-repellent coating called BIONIC-FINISH ECO is used, and this is free from harmful chemicals such as fluorocarbons, formaldehyde, and paraffin.
CIRCULAR PRODUCT DESIGN
A large range of Dedicated’s products are made from 100% cotton, and their new clothing range features 100% linen products. These products are easier to recycle, reducing the likelihood of excess waste being generated.
However, material blends are used for some garments, in particular socks and underwear which feature small percentages of nylon and elastane. Dedicated’s knitwear is also made from material blends; recycled wool is combined with small percentages of acrylic, polyester, and nylon. Whereas their men’s swimwear is produced from 100% recycled polyester, the women’s collection uses a small percentage of elastane. Dedicated recognises that recycled polyester itself is difficult to be re-recycled, and therefore encourages consumers to properly care for their garments to extend their lifespan.
CIRCULAR BUSINESS MODELS
Dedicated offers a repair program, which although isn’t free, does reward consumers with a 30% discount off future purchases. This scheme is also available for clothing from other companies, truly encouraging consumers to extend the lifespan of their garments!
DISTANCE AND COMPLEXITY OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN
Production locations
- China
- India
Dedicated has a relatively complex supply chain with 12 production partners based in China and India. Whilst its flagship stores are located in Gothenburg and Stockholm, Dedicated also has various retailers located mostly across Europe, with some in Asia too. Shipping is provided for the majority of countries in the world. All orders are shipped from their warehouse in Sweden.
TRANSPORTATION
Dedicated aims to always ship their garments by boat; reducing transport related emissions. In 2024, 67% of production was transported by boat, and 33% by air.
Animal related materials
- Recycled wool
Dedicated uses wool from both post- and pre-consumer waste to make their knitted sweaters and woven coats. This enhances the performance of their products as it has heat regulating properties, rarely looks worse for wear, and is highly durable!
As Dedicated uses recycled wool, which has shorter fibres, it is combined with stronger synthetic fibres to maintain its durability. Dedicated aims to reduce the environmental costs of this by using recycled fibres, and sourcing fabrics with the highest possible share of wool in their mix.
PRODUCT DESIGN
Dedicated offers a wide range of men’s and women’s wear, from sweatshirts to underwear and swimwear. Sizes range from XS to XL on the majority of products, with some items available in XXL. They also offer a selection of accessories, from caps and beanies to scrunchies made from leftover fabric scraps! There really is something for everyone!
SLOW FASHION PROCESSES
Dedicated has outlet sections for all their collections, as items are not made to order.
TRANSPARENCY ON PRODUCT
On each product page, Dedicated shows consumers exactly what they are buying. The product information clearly outlines what materials are used, and the certifications they hold. In addition, the supplier and their location are stated, so consumers know where their purchase was produced.
TRANSPARENCY ON PROCESSES
Dedicated provides detailed information about all of its suppliers, and their certifications. Consumers can also access a Supply Chain Transparency feature, where the steps and processes involved in the creation of their product are clearly outlined, from material sourcing to retailers. This allows for complete transparency in the supply chain!
Dedicated also publishes an annual sustainability report, where the ins and outs of the brand are accessible to consumers.

If you’re looking to update your wardrobe with fashionable items that are more sustainably produced, you’re in the right place!
