You’ll find carefully curated collections, whether you’re looking for high-end vintage gems, stylish upcycled coats, quality brands, zero-waste soap, more sustainable bras or second-hand children’s clothing. This guide helps you find the best, more sustainable shops in Amsterdam-Zuid.
3 October – Wear For Life Clothing Swap Party
Would you like to refresh your wardrobe without buying anything? On 3 October 2026, the Zuid city district is organising a free clothing swap party at Buurthuis Lydia as part of the Wear for Life campaign. Bring along garments you no longer wear and swap them for clothing handed in by other participants. There’s room for a maximum of 100 participants, so be sure to register ASAP!

The Swapshop De Pijp
A swap concept for quality clothing and accessories
On Van Woustraat in De Pijp, The Swapshop opened its third location with extra emphasis on quality. Here you can hand in clothing and accessories you no longer wear. In return you receive swaps which you can use to take something home straight away or later from the collection brought in by other swappers. This way you can spend your earned swaps on something that suits you whenever you’re looking for something new to add to your wardrobe. The Swapshop accepts clothing that’s clean and undamaged, after which the team makes a selection based on material, finish and condition. Well-made clothing tends to stay in use longer, and the more often such garments are passed on, the less needs to be produced new!
LENA the Fashion Library De Pijp
Rent, try or buy clothes at the clothing library
After its success in the Jordaan, you can now also find a location of the clothing library LENA the Fashion Library in De Pijp. The store is an inspiring place for more sustainable fashion. Here you can rent clothes to try them first, allowing you to have a constantly changing wardrobe without buying. Should you fall in love, you can luckily still purchase the garment. This makes engaging with fashion more consciously fun, flexible and accessible. Discover the surprising collection with vintage gems, pieces by emerging designers and fairer fashion labels such as King Louie, BYBROWN and Kuyichi.
LOVED by Ziggy + Lucy
The loveliest second-hand items for babies and children
Would you like to make more sustainable choices for your children? Then go for quality second-hand children’s clothing. At the shop LOVED by Ziggy + Lucy in De Pijp you’ll find second-hand quality brands such as Gray Label and Mini Rodini. All the second-hand children’s clothing that comes in is carefully sorted by owner Dora. The range consists of pre-loved clothing for babies and children aged 0 – 12 years, shoes, accessories and wooden toys.

Here you can browse the most beautiful pre-loved children’s clothing while enjoying a cup of coffee and your little one has fun in the play corner. Quinnie’s isn’t just a shop, but also a cosy coffee bar serving fair-trade coffee from Peru and the tastiest cakes.
Good Time Charlie
Upcycled jackets made from vintage textiles
In Amsterdam-Zuid, craftsmanship and unique creations are thriving, as is the coat brand Good Time Charlie. The Amsterdam brand creates unique upcycled coats that you’ll wear for a lifetime. The coats are handmade from beautiful vintage blankets, giving each coat a unique character. In the shop on Prinsengracht 254 you’ll find their ready-made collection, with a weekly changing selection of coats. You can also have a coat made to order, fully tailored to your style and wishes.
Pixelpolly’s Art & Apparel
Handmade upcycling art and clothing
Pixelpolly’s Art & Apparel was founded by Ageethe Groenendaal, who has been painting since 1990 and started working with textiles ten to fifteen years ago. From her atelier on Talmastraat she explores everything you can make from textile waste, resulting in creations with a quirky, neo-folkloric style. The denim collection is handmade from used jeans. For her crochet work, Ageethe uses materials like old tights, wool and cotton, sorted by collectors such as Sympany and the Salvation Army. You’ll find her work at Atelier Pixelpolly (by appointment) and at various locations around the city, including the WIHH Gallery. Want to get hands-on yourself? Pixelpolly gives upcycling and textile workshops where you reshape old clothing with a crochet hook or sewing machine.
See You Again
Upcycling creations for children
At Quinnie’s you’ll also find the unique pieces by this Amsterdam-based upcycling label. See You Again is a new children’s clothing brand that goes a step further than recycling: it upcycles existing garments and combines them with 100% recycled fibres. Here, discarded denim gets a second life in the shape of a cool jacket, trousers, skirt or blouse. Each item has a unique character.
In collaboration with House of Denim, second-hand jeans are selected, lasered with graphic prints and processed into new designs in an atelier in De Hallen, Amsterdam. Each garment has its own transparent digital product passport.
Angel Agudo
Men’s fashion shop and hair salon with an eye for quality since 2001
Just off the Ceintuurbaan, by the Sarphatipark, you’ll find Angel Agudo. A men’s fashion concept that has been run by the same team since 2001. What began as a hair salon grew into a shop with a clothing collection of brands that fit well and last a long time. Such as denim from Kuyichi, Nudie Jeans and Kings of Indigo and soft jumpers and T‑shirts from Knowledge Cotton Apparel. Around 80% of the brands sold here work with certified organic material or have independently audited production.
