Wear for Life x Amsterdam Fashion Week at The HUB
From 3 to 4 September, Wear for Life will settle down at The HUB at Keizersgracht 264, an initiative by the City of Amsterdam in collaboration with COSH! and Amsterdam Fashion Week. During AFW26, the focus here is on making the most of what you already own: a curated vintage market featuring items from Amsterdam’s coolest second-hand shops, a Repair Station where you can learn to mend your clothes, a Customisation Station to give an old garment a new lease of life, and workshops and talks on circular fashion.
The programme is free and open to everyone. Please note: do register for the talk and sewing workshop. The perfect warm-up for a more conscious day of shopping as outlined in the rest of this guide.

Iris Nijenhuis
Unique, locally made jewellery from textile
Amsterdam jewellery designer Iris Nijenhuis makes unique jewellery from textiles. Her innovative designs are modular, which means that the different pieces of textile are put together like a puzzle, without fasteners such as glue. The pieces of textile are cut with a laser cutter and then put together by Iris herself. The entire design and production process takes place in her atelier in the heart of Amsterdam.
Iris Nijenhuis doesn’t have her own shop, but you can visit her studio in Amsterdam by appointment. Make an appointment in advance via her website.

Social upcycling studio
At Rambler Studios Amsterdam on the Zeedijk, young talents get to work creatively designing, making and selling upcycled clothing. “Rambler studios empowers young Ramblers to design their own life through street fashion.” The studio is led by a team of Rambler Creative Coaches and Lifestyle Coaches with a focus on fashion design and social youth work. The Rambler Studio atelier/shop located in the heart of Amsterdam is open from Monday to Friday.

Brand flagship store from more sustainable jeans brand Mud Jeans
At the MUD Jeans Brand Store, almost everyone can find a well-fitting pair of jeans from MUD Jeans, one of the most sustainable jeans brands in the Netherlands. As a MUD Jeans flagship store, a large number of different MUD Jeans models and sizes are in stock. The jeans are currently made from 40% recycled denim and the brand strives to make this 100%. In addition to finding a nice new pair of jeans, you can also repair your old jeans here or hand them in for recycling. Please note: this is your last chance to get your hands on a pair of MUD jeans! Sadly, this pioneering brand filed for bankruptcy in August 2026.

At the clothing library LENA Library you can rent clothes from high-quality collections of emerging designers, more sustainable fashion labels and the most beautiful vintage items. At LENA you rent clothes without a subscription: each item costs a number of credits per day and you only pay for the days that you borrow something. So you are not tied to anything! Do you fall in love with an item? With the ‘try before you buy’ system you can also buy items!
Crafted Stories
Second-hand shopping with a social impact at the Noordermarkt
A jumper, a cup of coffee or a handmade gift: at Crafted Stories on the Noordermarkt in the Jordaan, every purchase helps someone make a fresh start. The shop combines carefully curated second-hand clothing with handmade accessories, home décor and fair-trade coffee, and the proceeds go towards the shop’s social projects. Volunteers follow a six-month work-based learning programme, ranging from barista training to assisting customers, with a job coach guiding them on a daily basis. For many, it is their first safe workplace and a stepping stone to paid employment after a difficult period. Crafted Stories is part of Tot Heil des Volks, which has been supporting people in vulnerable situations in Amsterdam for over 170 years. Do you have any clean, wearable clothes lying around?
