Did you know that Amsterdam is one of the most vegan cities in the world? Here you’ll find many vegan restaurants and there is also a unique 100% vegan store in the heart of Amsterdam: VEGA-LIFE!

VEGA-LIFE was founded in 1998 by Alex Blanker. He started importing and selling vegan shoes and together with Mirjam Kramer, he opened the store in Amsterdam on World Vegan Day in 2008. Shoes are the biggest ​‘problem’ if you don’t want products that are produced with animal suffering and here you can find good alternatives. So not just cheap plastic, but as good and durable as possible. And beautiful!

In this store you’ll find a very wide range of shoes, clothing, accessories, care products, cosmetics, goodies, (cooking) books, and pet food for dogs and cats! In short, everything for a vegan lifestyle that you usually only find online. Great if you don’t want to check all the labels and want to try and compare; everything is completely vegan, cruelty-free and fairly made. All brands work with innovative recycled and/​or organic materials and under good working conditions. You can view almost everything online, but it’s much more fun in the store!
