Ingredients
The CÎME products all have 1 of the following 3 certificates:
- Cosmos Organic (100% natural and at least 20% organic),
- Cosmos Natural (100% natural)
- Or Ecocert Bio label which requires at least 100% natural and between 10 – 95% organically grown ingredients.
If we analyse the product range per piece, it is generally between 98 – 100% natural and the various products contain between 28 – 100% ingredients of ‘organic farming’.
The brand only uses natural blends of essential oils in the products. No synthetic perfumes are added.
In order to guarantee the quality, CÎME uses packaging materials that prevent light and air from reaching the active ingredients.
In addition, CÎME uses a minimum of preservatives in its products to ensure their safety and effectiveness. For this reason, it uses only the natural preservatives authorised by COSMOS, such as vitamin E (tocopherol) and rosemary extract. There is also an expiry date on each product. CÎME recommends using the product for six to twelve months after opening
Vegan?
The care products are vegan, with the exception of Himalaya 29°N‑81°E and Le Baume from CÎME, which contain organic beeswax. The brand also does not test on animals but lets people try the products.
Fair
The active ingredients were grown, harvested and developed by farmers in the Himalayan Mountains. CÎME works closely with these people and rewards them with a fair wage. The brand also supports a school project in Nepal. For each product sold, the brand donates part of its profits to the Little Doctors school project. This project is part of the charity Nepal Trust. The final product is produced in Belgium and France.
Circular?
The packaging is recyclable. All plastic packaging of the shower products is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. The newest tubes are made of sugar cane and the new bottles are made of plastic from sea waste.
In the course of 2020, CÎME introduced a refill system for the latest products, shower gel and shampoo. You can fill these in the following stores: Supergoods Antwerp, Supergoods Ghent, Supergoods Mechelen, Host Berchem, Harvest Club Leuven and Fonetik Aalst.
However, the brand is not a big fan of refill systems when it comes to day creams. The airless packaging used by CÎME allows the brand to add a minimum of preservatives. According to the cosmetics brand, this is better for the skin and health.
Thanks to this airless packaging, the active ingredients in the product remain stable so that they can continue to work perfectly for the skin.
