Berlin, hailed for its vibrant and unique art scene, remains ​“poor but sexy”, as it was lovingly described by its former mayor Klaus Wowereit. This fact has not stopped the city from emerging as one of the most sustainable cities in the world. Berlin also joined the Global Sustainable Tourism Council in August 2021.
