How can you be more mindful about your clothing?
Did you know that, on average, you only wear 21 per cent of your clothes? That, globally, we have enough clothes to clothe the next six generations?! And that only 24 percent of discarded clothes are put into textile collection bins?
This has to change! With WEAR FOR LIFE, COSH! and the City of Amsterdam are helping you get more out of your wardrobe.
This way, you can make your clothes last longer, learn to repair them, or give them a new lease of life in some other way if you really don’t wear them any more. That way, fewer clothes will end up in landfill.

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN MAKE YOUR CLOTHES LAST LONGER
There are various ways to make your clothes last longer. It starts with mindful shopping. When you think carefully about a new purchase, you generally wear it more often and for longer.
It’s also important to look after your clothes as well as possible. For example, try not to wash your clothes too often; that way, they’ll wear out or fade less quickly. On the other hand, you can often easily repair any signs of wear and tear. Mend loose seams, replace buttons or patch up a small tear. On our website, you’ll find a range of solutions and shops that can help you out with this.
