From 21 to 27 October is Dutch Design Week, the perfect opportunity to celebrate these Dutch designers with a more sustainable vision!
It’s that time of year again — Dutch Design Week (DDW) is back, and The Netherlands is buzzing with excitement!
From October 21st to 29th, the city of Eindhoven becomes a vibrant playground for creative minds showcasing their projects, with exhibitions, workshops, and talks spread throughout the city. This year, COSH! member Secrid joins the festival as a proud partner, reinforcing the importance of sustainable design within the industry.
This week we’re celebrating some of the most forward-thinking and creative designers The Netherlands has to offer, all over the country. For COSH! fans, there’s plenty to be excited about. Let’s dive into the Dutch designers who are making waves in the world of sustainable fashion.
Hul le Kes
A standout for its unique approach to fashion, Hul le Kes creates garments that challenge traditional beauty standards by embracing imperfections. Using repurposed materials, Hul le Kes transforms what others might discard into cherished, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each garment tells a story through its textures and faded colours, embodying a “worn-in” look that connects wearers to the past while being consciously crafted for a sustainable future. Each garment has a story, encouraging wearers to see value in the history behind their clothes.
The Knitwit Stable
The Knitwit Stable takes knitting to the next level, blending age-old techniques with a sustainable mindset. With a focus on wool sourced from local sheep farms, they produce clothing that is not only beautiful but also deeply rooted in ethical practices. From chunky sweaters to delicate scarves, The Knit Wit Stable’s pieces wrap you in warmth and comfort, making them a must-see at DDW for anyone passionate about natural fibres and traditional craftsmanship.
tiSHOO
tiSHOO puts a playful spin on sustainability with its collection of eco-friendly accessories and bags crafted from upcycled textiles. Julahas
Inspired by traditional Indian craftsmanship, Julahas merges contemporary style with heritage techniques. Their vibrant, multi-functional pieces are woven by artisans and designed to be worn in multiple ways. Julahas champions the art of slow fashion by celebrating handwoven textiles and empowering artisans with fair wages. With Julahas, you’re not just buying fashion; you’re investing in a piece of culture.
Free Prisoner
Free Prisoner is redefining sustainable fashion with its edgy, zero-waste designs. Founded by Amber, this brand embraces rebellious elegance, blending Asian cultural influences with natural materials like GOTS-certified organic cotton and hemp. Each piece is handcrafted in the Netherlands and embodies a commitment to ethical production. Known for its made-to-order approach, Free Prisoner minimises waste, uses non-toxic dyes, and ensures every garment is biodegradable. With its focus on transparency and unique style, Free Prisoner offers an eco-friendly wardrobe option for the conscious consumer.
Iris Nijenhuis
Known for her intricate and colourful accessories, Iris Nijenhuis creates jewellery that’s both eye-catching and sustainable. She uses laser-cutting techniques on recycled materials to craft stunning, modular designs that can be reconfigured into different styles. Her pieces are as versatile as they are unique, allowing wearers to mix and match to create endless looks. Iris brings a fun, architectural approach to sustainable fashion that truly sets her apart.

Specialising in timeless, elegant pieces made from eco-friendly materials, Rhea is all about creating beautiful designs with minimal impact.
