2024 was a year of change. Look back with us at what COSH! accomplished and what shaped our journey.
What did 2024 mean for the fashion professionals at COSH!? From the new fast fashion legislation in France and the launch of COSH! in various cities to numerous pop-ups and the latest developments in fashion tech: This is what we achieved with COSH! in 2024.
Focus on legislation and fashion tech
At the beginning of the year, European legislation for fashion companies drew the attention of numerous journalists. They explored how Europe is tackling the fast fashion crisis and turned to COSH! founder Niki, who offered a critical perspective on the new European plans. The conversation continued the following month when Het Laatste Nieuws invited her to share her thoughts on the new fast fashion legislation in France.
In March, COSH! participated in the Flanders Technology and Innovation Festival (FTI), which celebrated data-driven transformations across various sectors, including fashion. The COSH! Shopping Map for Hasselt, launched during FTI, received significant recognition from Fashion United, Het Laatste Nieuws, and Knack Weekend, who also recommended our Fashion Tech Walk in the city as part of the festival.
As the first city in Germany, Visit Düsseldorf partnered with COSH! to highlight local retailers and their sustainability efforts. With a new printed and online COSH! Shopping Map, launched at Düsseldorf’s retailers and Visit Düsseldorf, they celebrated the city’s businesses while encouraging visitors and locals alike to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle. The COSH! guide was also picked up by the Neue Ruhr/Neue Rhein Zeitung.
In early May, COSH! launched another Shopping Map in Berlin. Alongside this new route, COSH! organised three consecutive pop-ups in collaboration with various COSH! retailers from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain. From 15 May until the end of the year, multiple COSH! retailers showcased their offerings at the renowned Conscious Fashion Store in Berlin.
Closer to home, in Belgium, COSH! participated in the Bruto Lokaal Geluk campaign, initiated by Muntuit vzw. Just as the Gross Domestic Product measures wealth, Bruto Lokaal Geluk mapped the well-being of Flemish citizens. The goal? To measure how long and happily residents live in relation to their ecological footprint. Through an app, users could complete missions and collect tokens. Those who completed the most missions had a chance to win a COSH! Gift Card.
5th anniversary, COSH! summer at the 202030 Berlin Fashion Summit and Neonyt Düsseldorf
While summer is a time of rest for many companies, the opposite was true for COSH!! In July, COSH! founder Niki participated in a panel discussion at the 202030 Berlin Fashion Summit, focusing on the role of innovation in shaping a more sustainable fashion future.
On 27 and 28 July, COSH! brought together numerous entrepreneurs at the Bilker Bunker in Düsseldorf for Neonyt. Innovation was again at the centre of this trade fair, where insightful panel discussions and workshops provided a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and explore solutions to tackle the challenges of today’s and tomorrow’s fashion industry.
In September, COSH! partnered with the Metropoolregio Amsterdam and the OBA to launch the Wear for Life campaign during Amsterdam Fashion Week. This joint initiative aimed to inspire fashion enthusiasts to engage more consciously with their wardrobes.
The highlight of the summer came in September with COSH!s 5th anniversary! A story that began at a kitchen table in Bruges with just two students has grown into an international platform that not only shapes the fashion industry but also challenges it to continuously improve. Together with COSH! founder Niki, you can look back on 5 years of COSH! and celebrate the importance of transparency and innovation for a more sustainable fashion future.
COSH! kicked off October with the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week and the launch of the COSH! Shopping Map in Arnhem, featuring more than 35 local entrepreneurs. This route highlights not only local designers, multi-brand boutiques, and secondhand and vintage shops, but also workshops and culinary stops for a delightful shopping break.
In Utrecht, COSH! participated in the Bunk Funk Fashion Fest on 6 October, where the new online COSH! Shopping Map for Utrecht was unveiled, showcasing over 10 entrepreneurs!
A special highlight for COSH! founder Niki came in November: she was nominated for the Belgian Fashion Awards in the category “Changemaker of the Year”. Since 2017, the BFA has celebrated innovative Belgian fashion talent each year.
November also marked the end of the COSH! X Conscious Fashion Store pop-up in Berlin. Until 17 November, visitors could shop clothing, shoes, and accessories from Belgian, Dutch, Spanish, and German designers and retailers.
To close the year with a fashiontech bang, COSH! launched the COSH! Digital Wardrobe App and the Antwerp Shopping Map on Black Friday at MOOSE in the CITY! The Wardrobe App helps you get the most out of your wardrobe with features like cost-per-wear calculations, an outfit builder, and integrated COSH! shopping routes. Download it now and start your journey toward a more conscious wardrobe!
With 6 new COSH! Shopping Maps, more than 30 meet-ups, 8 Fashion Tours, the brand-new COSH! Digital Wardrobe App, and now over 850 local entrepreneurs on the platform, 2024 was a year filled with (technological) innovation, green determination, and infectious ambition!
