This is your chance to shop Belgian designers abroad
Are you planning on visiting Berlin? From the 15th May onwards you can get inspired by members from the COSH! network in Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf’s* Conscious Fashion Store in the shopping centre ‘The Playce’ at Potsdamer Platz in Germany’s capital city. For more than two months, we invite you to Reflect on the Future of Fashion in a three-story building in Berlin, together with brands from not only Belgium, but also Germany, Spain, Catalonia, and the Netherlands!
During this unique two-month pop-up at the Potsdamer Platz you will be invited to a profound journey of self reflection centred around your relationship with fashion and its impact on the world. You will get the opportunity to connect with the inspiring community of COSH! members, all gathered in one vibrant location. Just like COSH!, Conscious Fashion Store aims to bring together people like you, who are interested in more sustainable fashion by offering a platform for events, talks, workshops, and pop-ups. Curious to know which Belgian members to expect? We made you this guide.
In the dynamic world of sustainable fashion, designers like An Vandenberk are making significant strides. Since 2015, An has been passionately creating upcycled handbags in Schaerbeek’s vibrant heart, quickly expanding her vision with the launch of her clothing line, This Is No Disco, in 2018. Celebrated for its inclusivity, This Is No Disco champions your right to express your true self, transcending constraints of background, body type, or gender identity. An’s designs encapsulate the belief that diversity embodies true beauty, creating clothes that celebrate every individual.
'Transcending borders, from Milan in 2023 to Berlin, my membership in the COSH! community means being part of a progressive movement of like-minded entrepreneurs who are committed to sustainability. In this community, I find not only support for my projects, but also fertile ground for collaboration, customer engagement and forging new partnerships. It is a privilege to work together to create a better world for consumers, where our joint efforts are strengthened and create significant impact. After my launch in the Brussels House in Milan, the COSH! pop-up in Berlin will allow me to once again elevate my projects to the next level. For that, I am extremely grateful.' An Vandenberk, founder of This Is No Disco and An Vandenberk
Francine, a skilled craftswoman from Bruges accredited by Handmade in Bruges, offers an exquisite range of leather goods. Since transitioning careers in 2014, she has developed Leather BE, a brand known for its versatility and personal touch. Each piece, from purses to toiletry bags, is customizable, offering choices in leather type—including innovative plant-based apple leather—colour, and design. Francine’s creations are available at her concept store, Atelier Twee, and various locations across Belgium, ensuring that you receive a piece that’s both unique and personal.
Located in Boechout, the nonprofit ‘be the fibre’ is revolutionizing the way we view fashion. As part of We Make Hope, this initiative transforms pre-used clothing into new accessories, promoting a more environmentally friendly cycle of reuse. You can donate your garments in their collection containers, which you can find at different stores across Belgium. The donated garments are then being repurposed into innovative products like bags and laptop covers.
'As a proud member of the COSH! community, we find strength in unity and purpose. Not only does it elevate awareness for our nonprofit organization, but it also fosters a sense of belonging among like-minded creative businesses. Showcasing our fiber-to-fiber accessories in Berlin extends our reach to a new, eco-conscious audience, fostering collaboration and creating positive impact together.' Valeria Siniouchkina, brand responsible at ‘be the fibre’
