Portobello is an established name in Leuven and surroundings. They can rightly say: “we dress young people from 16 years old to the older man”. There is something for every budget in many classic stylish brands.
By a very personal selection of different brands (about 40) they succeed. Since recently, they are including more sustainable brands and are for the first time taking the road to a more sustainable offer.
Marc Vandeven, scion of a well-known family of clothing stores in Leuven, and Nicole Janssens started in 1982 the men’s clothing shop in the Bondgenotenlaan. In 2003, they exchanged the 2 existing branches for a new location with almost twice as much retail space. The range of space on offer was broadened. The store performed better than ever before. In 2000, Veerle Valcke joined the company as a partner.
Together they face the challenge of buying the most beautiful items every season. Together with the entire sales team, they aim for a personal no-nonsense approach and are open to brands with a more sustainable approach if they fit in with the style and budget of their male customer.
