The factories in Turkey, Portugal and China, where most CarlijnQ garments are manufactured, ensure that employees receive a living wage, and that the factory covers their social security and pension funds. Employees are entitled to paid holidays, sick leave, health insurance and overtime pay. And they work in well-lit, ventilated and spacious environments.

In addition, all fabrics are dyed with GOTS-approved dyes, ensuring that they are free of elements hazardous to workers’ health.

The majority of their garments are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Would you like to learn about the benefits of organic cotton? Discover them here. However, a small percentage of elastane is incorporated to ensure the garments are elastic and comfortable for children.

Additionally, some of their items, such as swimwear, backpacks, and winter sets, are crafted from recycled polyester, known as rPET, which is obtained by melting down existing plastic and spinning it into new polyester fibers.

Furthermore, they incorporate modal fabrics in certain clothing items. Modal is derived from sustainably harvested beech trees, and the company employs an environmental bleaching method for pulp production.

To address the finer details, CarlinQ utilizes biodegradable and compostable bags, and their polybags and postal bags are crafted from completely plastic-free materials.

Some of their garments are crafted from 100% organic cotton, ensuring they are easily recyclable. However, certain other garments consist of a mix of materials, including cotton and polyester, making them difficult to recycle due to the complexity of their composition.

CarlijnQ’s headquarters are based in Rotterdam. However, detailed information about its production chain is limited. It is known that the production facilities for the garments are located in Turkey, Portugal, and China.

The garments in the current CarlijnQ collection do not contain any animal-derived materials, making them entirely vegan.
