Discover one of the most charming and diverse shopping streets in Rotterdam: Zwaanshals.
Welcome to vintage & secondhand heaven! It’s one of the most charming and diverse shopping streets in Rotterdam: Zwaanshals. A somewhat undiscovered street in North Rotterdam, not far from de Meent, and definitely worth a visit! Here you’ll find the most delightful vintage stores, boutiques, and eateries. No big chains, but genuine Rotterdam entrepreneurs, each with a unique offering.
Great tip! Pay a visit to Zwaanshals on Saturday and also enjoy the Oogstmarkt at Noordplein. A culinary market full of (organic) delights.
Vintage and pre-loved clothing by mother & daughter
At CÉNO classics in Rotterdam, you’ll find the most beautiful vintage and second-hand clothing of high quality. The collection is carefully curated by owner Céline, who pays particular attention to high-quality natural materials, timeless silhouettes, and a neutral color palette. In addition, all items are chosen to be affordable. And a fun fact: there’s a record store in the basement of the shop on Zwaanshals.
VINTAGE PEARL AT MAISON MAAS
A couple of doors down, you’ll find Maas with his vintage shop: Maison Maas. If you’re fond of vintage designer clothing and accessories, you’re in the right place! Maas will delight you with preloved items from high-end designer brands such as Maison Margiela, Prada, Ann Demeulemeester, and Dries van Noten.
Alongside the secondhand designer clothing, his store on Zwaanshals also showcases designs from local creators and from the owner Maas Broekhuizen’s own label. He creates unique items like stylish snowboard pants and knitted sweaters and cardigans.
Vintage and upcycled items
At Hidden Youth in Rotterdam, you can find a unique vintage collection. The store, owned by Evana, is not a “hidden gem” in the second-hand paradise on Zaagmolenkade. Her vintage gems shine in the shop window! Evana is a designer herself and also upcycles vintage clothing that she sells in the store. The collection consists of high-quality materials and unique details. She regularly goes on buying trips to London, Paris, and Antwerp to score new vintage gems there!
UNIQUE VINTAGE DESIGNER CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
Searching for unique vintage designer clothing and accessories? Pay a visit to SHOWROOM41 located on Zaagmolenkade. The owners of the shop, Ed and Lione, have been collecting the most exceptional clothing, shoes, and accessories for years. They predominantly sell designer vintage items, but you can also find more affordable vintage pieces without labels.
Furthermore, they offer clothing from their own brand, L.I.O.N.E. clothing, which is crafted from vintage and leftover materials from the industry, such as leather and textiles. Each garment is unique and is created from start to finish by Lione herself in her studio located above the store. And if you want to complete your look, you can also get your hair cut by Ed, who, alongside the store, has been working as a makeup artist for photoshoots in the advertising and fashion industry for many years.
HANDCRAFTED LEATHER BAGS AND ACCESSORIES
Are you in search of a handcrafted and unique bag? Then you’ve come to the right place at olga korstanje on Zaagmolenkade! When you step into her store, you’re also stepping into her atelier. The collection of her own label, O* Olga Korstanje, consists of leather bags and accessories that owner Olga designs and crafts herself in her workshop. Timeless designs, of high quality, made with an eye for detail. There’s limited stock, and often the bags are ‘made to order’. Special requests are possible, and Olga also offers workshops where you can create your own bag in just one afternoon. Make an appointment for a workshop.
In addition to her own brand, Olga Korstanje also sells bags and accessories from small European brands.
Second hand and locally made clothing in Rotterdam
And we conclude our journey through the Zwaanhalskwartier back on Zwaanshals, precisely at Ding&Dingen. The store’s owner, Mariska, has been collecting secondhand clothing for 15 years to give these pieces a second life. She carefully selects, washes, and repairs items with love when necessary. Additionally, she has her own clothing line featuring items made from secondhand fabrics.
Are you interested in becoming more skilled with a sewing machine? You can take sewing lessons with Mariska to enhance your skills. She shares her years of experience through teaching. Learn how to create a garment from start to finish or how to repair ‘old’ clothing.
