Both founders worked in the fashion industry for years before deciding to open a store together. They both really value sustainability and wanted to open their own store to highlight more sustainable brands for consumers.

De Lokatie

At thrift store De Lokatie you will be able to find nice second-hand clothing, books, music, furniture and even electronics! In Amsterdam North you’ll find 2 locations of De Lokatie: one at the Distelweg and one at Buikslotermeerplein.

De Lokatie was founded in 1996 with a social objective. It increases the socioeconomic opportunities of people with psychiatric or psychosocial conditions by offering them a daytime activity or work experience. Creative breeding ground and meeting place

The Modestraat in Amsterdam North is a real creative breeding ground. Here, workshops are regularly organised, there is a swap boutique where you can exchange or buy second-hand clothing, there is a repair café where you can (learn to) repair clothing and creative people can even rent their own atelier here. You can also sit down in the cosy café for a coffee, freshly made (vegetarian) lunch and a chat.
