Sustainable brands for nice home clothing?
We’re fully in #stayathome times. Yes, this presents many challenges. But let’s focus on the benefits today. I’m thinking no traffic jams, no make-up, no killer heels and the chance to wear comfy clothes.

As mentioned earlier on the blog, these are challenging times for our brands and stores. With actions like #ikkoopBelgisch and #kooplokaal we can support them. That’s why in this list I focus on Belgian brands and brands sold at our Belgian retail stores.
Froy & Dind
I would like to start with one of the Belgian pioneers in sustainable fashion. Adinda and Froya started with Froy and Dind more than 10 years ago. In the meantime, in addition to 2 women’s and children’s brands, they also have a men’s brand. A fixed value in their women’s collections are the velvet sweaters. These are not only nice and retro but they also have a huge cuteness factor. You want to feel them immediately and put them on. This collection ensures that the velour jumpsuit not only looks cuddly but also that you can do your virtual appointments with the necessary class.
LnKnits
Also my second brand, lnknits is a Belgian brand. Founder Ellen is one of the first to bring the fair trade story in a beautiful and accessible way. Her 350 Peruvian women got a face. Because I, myself, lived in Peru for 5 months, I know what the positive impact of such a project is. The clothes exude softness. If you invest in one of her timeless pieces, you probably don’t want to take it off. Lnknits has both timeless black pants and more funky colors like gold, coral and lilac. Ideal to brighten up your sofa.
Jan ‘n June
Four years ago I discovered the Jan ‘n June brand in their hometown Hamburg. I was an instant fan and bought a vest from them. Since 2013, these two girlfriends have been making pure clothes. The collections are minimalistic without being boring. The arabis pants are loose enough for comfort but keep a certain elegance by their cut. Jan ‘n June entire production is centralized in one factory in Poland. It’s a conscious choice to work with only one partner nearby. After all, long-term relationships and transparency are of great importance to them.
J‑lab3l
J‑lab3l is a brand made in India. This country has an edge for me anyway. After all, during my visit in September, I discovered the positive impact that sustainable brands have there. By creating good working conditions, you help whole families and therefore communities move forward. So this sleek, bohemian brand doesn’t just look beautiful but can also be worn with a good feeling. The jumpsuits are wonderfully airy and at the same time give a stylish feeling.
Thought
This pioneer should certainly not be missing from this list. Thought clothing was started more than 20 years ago in Australia under the name Braintree. In the meantime they are London based and sell in more than 1000 stores worldwide. Thought clothing has an extensive selection of loungewear. Most of their collection is made of natural materials such as organic cotton, bamboo and wool. The pants and jumpsuits range from basic to cheerful prints. Really something for everyone.
