Curls here and frills there, Thought clothing is the brand for women and men who are pattern lovers. It's a clothing brand from which the passion for nature and creativity drips. Now you can think: that must be a very kitsch brand? No, actually not at all, because the design team knows how to find a perfect balance between the prints and the shapes. What's more, with Thought you're always and everywhere in fashion! Lovely slow fashion
Thought was founded after a cry for natural, light clothing during the hot summer of 1995 in Australia. John and David started the Thought brand with simple shirts and beachwear in hemp and ramie. In 2002, David left with Thought for the UK and grew the brand with the help of several pop-up shops on Portobello Road and in Camden Town. Three years later the brand had grown to such an extent that an expansion of the team was needed. Creative Rachel joined the team. In 2008 she further developed the collections and has been leading the creative team ever since. Thought has since grown into a well-known sustainable brand with customers all over the world
The brand still likes to use hemp, but several sustainable materials have been added in the meantime. There are also garments in organic cotton, wool, Tencel, modal, bamboo, recycled polyester and rayon. The latter, like Tencel, is made of wood pulp. The ink used to dye the clothing is Azo-free and the fabrics are OekoTex-certified.
What we are missing is proof of sustainable forestry for the bamboo. There should also be more information about the certificates the clothing would be carrying
In China, Thought collects all the materials from producers with whom they have worked from the very beginning. Maintaining good relationships with these partners is extremely important for the brand. For COSH, the long-standing and well-founded relationship is! It is also a sign of fair cooperation. All collections are also made in China. Because everything is produced in the same country, Thought avoids unnecessary transport. To ensure good working conditions, they have each factory sign their code of conduct.
Many garments are made mono-material and are therefore recyclable. Another big plus we find at COSH!
