October 12th Exclusive: Unveiling 69 Sustainable Gems in Bruges on the COSH! Roadmap
COSH! Conscious Shopping Made Easy, is set to launch the 4th edition of its popular Bruges shopping roadmap on 12 October. This new edition highlights 69 sustainable hotspots, including some cool new additions, such as children’s apparel stores, local artisans, and new sustainable initiatives. Notably, numerous highlighted spots can be found nestled between Langestraat and Ezelstraat.
One of the highlights of this edition is IEDEREEN LOOPT. The ultimate shop for barefoot and minimalist running enthusiasts. With benefits such as comfort and health, COSH! highlights the importance of the barefoot shoe trend.
Meanwhile, established names such as Duka Moodstore and zero-waste shop Karma Markt are firmly established in the city. These shops not only offer a wide range of sustainable products, but also actively contribute to a better future for people and planet.
Another notable addition to this edition is Goûts et Couleurs. More than just an interior design shop selling amazing furniture, they also offer eco-conscious guidance for styling your home. Their innovative concept allows you to put together and customise your interior without making any sustainability compromises.
In addition to the many new shops that opened, second-hand clothing remains popular in Bruges. COSH! is proud to mention that the city centre is attracting more and more repair services, such as the young shoemaker Bence, who took over Schoenmakerij René. At Shoerecrafting, Luc Decuyper repairs and resoles your shoes with traditional craftsmanship.
Also the greater Bruges region sees an influx of sustainable initiatives, such as K‑deetje in Oostkamp, which focuses on open-ended play for children, while nearby, The Soul Store, boasts a wide range of natural beauty products.
For the little ones, Bruges has no shortage of delights. The new Oxfam solidariteitswinkel on Smedenstraat 33, not only offers second-hand clothes for adults, but also has a dedicated toy and clothing corner for the kids. Explore West Flanders’ Bazar Cezar eShop for thoughtfully curated second-hand children outfits and rompers. Stepping into the The Milky Way near De Burg, offering some of Europe’s most sustainable, innovative, and cool brands from toddlers to teens like Bobo Choses, The Animals Observatory, and Mini Rodini.
Since 2020, COSH! has collaborated with Stad Brugge and Shopping Brugge to make conscious shopping easier. Shoppers can find the roadmap at all participating stores in Bruges, as well as at the In&Uit Brugge locations, in the station, and the Concertgebouw at ‘t Zand, and at the Shopping Brugge headquarters.
Through the collaborative effort between Shopping Brugge and COSH!, approximately 600 consumers from Flanders and the Netherlands, along with 200 other tourists, use the platform to plan their Bruges shoppingtrip. Additionally, 250 local Bruges residents turn to COSH! each month to enhance their sustainable living practices.
Thanks to the collaboration between Stad Brugge and COSH!, Bruges has seen a significant 40% increase in second-hand shops! This growth demonstrates the immense potential of sustainability-focused partnerships. As more consumers find their way to sustainable clothing options, local commerce prospers, the planet benefits, and the city advances in its run-up to the European Green Deal.
