Celebrate the very first Day of the Pig at VEGA-LIFE!
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, we will transform VEGA-LIFE into a pink pig paradise! Especially for all animal lovers aged 7 and up, we are organizing the very first edition of the Day of the Pig. An afternoon full of stories, treats, and action for the pig.
Why you don’t want to miss this:
We are celebrating this day together with none other than Janneke Schotveld, the famous author of the heartwarming children’s book *Abel en Olle*. Come listen to the most beautiful stories, test your knowledge during the exciting pig quiz, and score a signed book!
Support Varkens in Nood
A ticket costs only €5, of which half of the proceeds (€2.50 per ticket) go to Stichting Varkens in Nood.
Shopping for a good cause: In addition to the tickets, on this day we will donate 5% of our total daily turnover to Varkens in Nood. So, a perfect moment to stock up on your favorite vegan products and/or purchase the book Abel and Olle!
Program (From 3:00 PM)
- Pig Quiz: Are you a true pig expert?
- Reading Session: Janneke Schotveld reads from Abel and Olle.
- Presentation: The book Abel and Olle is presented to Frederieke Schouten, Director of Varkens in Nood.
- Signing: Have your book signed by Janneke.
- Vegan Sausage Tasting: Discover the tastiest flavors!
- Goodie Bag: Everyone goes home with a Goodie Bag containing Abel and Olle postcards, stickers, and candy, among other things.
Dress Code: Put on your best pink outfit! Are you coming dressed as a pig? Then you’ll get an extra big smile from us (and maybe even a bonus)!

- There is room for a maximum of 40 people in our store. So be quick! If there is a lot of interest, we will open a second session at 16:30.
