In the heart of Schaerbeek, spirited independent designer An Vandenberk breathes life into bespoke leather goods and the vibrant fashion scene of This Is No Disco. In her studio, she creates stylish custom-made handbags from old leather clothing, deadstock or sustainable leather with an enchanting touch of upcycling. This Is No Disco, An’s fashion label, originated in Paris in 2016 while experimenting with old t‑shirts. In late 2018, the first capsule collection was launched on social media and in 2021, the first website saw the light of day. In 2023, the label grew into a real collection and the new website was launched, still with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity. It stands for the belief that everyone should be able to be themselves, regardless of their background, body type, gender identity or clothing style. An creates clothes for all individuals, because diversity is the essence of true beauty.
The timeless collection, “Just be you in Bamboo”, is more than just clothes; it is a statement about respect for people and nature. A single collection in small editions, no overstocks, nor markdowns, but unique pieces made of bamboo that you can enjoy for a lifetime. The collection is a collaboration with Bamboo Belgium, the prints are designed by Paul Holland and printed by INK.Brussels.
