Contour Lab is digital shopping adviser for fashion e‑commerce created by Christina Hadinoto and her co-founders Ilias Mansouri and Luca Puglisi. Based on a questionnaire, it automatically selects items from the webshop you’re buying from. That way, Contour Lab takes away the burden of manually adding filters to find not only exactly what you’re looking for, but also, and especially what fits you best.
Thanks to this automated personalisation tool, customers are less likely to send back clothes that don’t fit well or don’t align with their personal style. To be more precise: from its collaboration with Marie Méro it became clear that Contour Lab generates around 19% less such returns compared to when orders are placed without it. This in turn results in less CO2 emissions. In other words: Contour Lab personalises your whole shopping experience while improving your body image, saving you time and limiting environmental pollution.
Curious to learn more about Christina’s story?
When shopping online, she bumped into limitations when trying to find the right fit, because she belongs to the often forgotten petite segment of the fashion market. Christina was not the only one experiencing insecurities when shopping online: more than 80% of women admit to experiencing the mental consequences of having a negative body image. Contour Lab promises to change that by starting from the individual instead of standard trends and sizes. How? It takes into account body shape, fashion styles, colour, and size so that you can find those pieces of clothing that flatter you most. The digital shopping adviser now includes size advice and colour recommendations based on eye, hair, and skin tone in the selection.
