Hamburg Textile Week: Fabrics With a Future

What’s happening in textile design today is shaping the future of fashion and far beyond it. From 1 to 11 October 2026, Hamburg Textile Week brings that future into view with an exhibition and an extensive programme of talks, workshops, and open studios across the city.

The centrepiece is the exhibition Stoffe mit Zukunft (“Fabrics With a Future”) at Design Zentrum Hamburg, where visitors can see bio-based materials up close, follow circular production processes, and try out textiles linked with technology.

The real hands-on action, though, happens at FABRIC – Future Fashion Lab, where most of the week’s workshops and talks take place. Here, participants meet regional, national, and international experts and get to try out techniques themselves rather than just watching from the sidelines.
