As worldwide crowds approach Black Friday, Antwerp-based second-hand clothing shop Pardaf is opting for a more sustainable alternative. With its Green Friday initiative, and its motto ‘Reuse, Reduce, Recycle’, Pardaf is inviting consumers to make more environmentally friendly choices and think consciously about their purchases.
During the week of Black Friday, from 26 November to 30 November, Pardaf is offering a unique promotion: customers will receive a voucher for every purchase with which they can have a garment repaired or retouched for free the following week. By doing so, the shop not only gives existing clothes a second life, but also takes a step towards a circular economy.
‘Where Black Friday is about mass consumption, we want to show with Green Friday that things can be different,’ says Charlotte Vrydaghs, owner of Pardaf. ‘By restoring clothes instead of throwing them away, we want to inspire customers to be more fashion conscious.’
Visitors are welcome to the shop at Gemeentestraat 8 in Antwerp to discover unique second-hand clothes, while celebrating sustainability at the same time. Pardaf hopes Green Friday will inspire a wide audience to enjoy their clothes for longer and contribute to a cleaner fashion industry.
