‘Sol de Raíces y Alas’ is an artistic celebration of the solsticio de verano (summer solstice), taking place on 21 June 2025 at Galerie Intussen, Amsterdam.
Join our beading workshop held in the form of a creative DIY circle. Participants will create their own Colombian beaded star (estrella chaquirada) — a colourful, handmade piece they can wear immediately as a brooch. The workshop is accessible, community-driven, and a tribute to craftsmanship and sustainability. 🌟
In addition, I will be presenting my collection of wearable art, including upcycled jackets that have been brought back to life with intricate beading and meaningful symbolism. Each piece tells a story of identity, migration, nature, and the cultural connection between Colombia and the Netherlands.
This workshop embraces the values of sustainability, craftsmanship, upcycling, purpose, and cultural diversity. 🪴⚒️♻️🌍
