‘Sol de Raíces y Alas’ is an artis­tic cele­bra­ti­on of the sol­s­ti­cio de vera­no (sum­mer sol­s­ti­ce), taking pla­ce on 21 June 2025 at Gale­rie Intu­ssen, Ams­ter­dam.

Join our beading wor­k­shop held in the form of a cre­ati­ve DIY cir­cle. Par­ti­ci­pants will cre­ate the­ir own Colom­bi­an beaded star (estrel­la chaqu­ira­da) — a colo­ur­ful, han­d­ma­de piece they can wear imme­di­ately as a bro­och. The wor­k­shop is acce­ssi­ble, com­mu­nity-dri­ven, and a tri­bu­te to craf­t­sman­ship and sustainability. 🌟

In addi­ti­on, I will be pre­sen­ting my col­lec­ti­on of weara­ble art, inclu­ding upcy­cled jac­kets that have been bro­ug­ht back to life with intri­ca­te beading and meanin­g­ful sym­bo­lism. Each piece tel­ls a story of iden­tity, migra­ti­on, natu­re, and the cul­tu­ral con­nec­ti­on betwe­en Colom­bia and the Netherlands.

This wor­k­shop embra­ces the valu­es of sus­ta­ina­bi­lity, craf­t­sman­ship, upcy­cling, pur­po­se, and cul­tu­ral diver­sity. 🪴⚒️♻️🌍
