This is a follow-up for our Sewing Workshop Series: Basics 1.0!! It doesn’t mean that you cannot join this course if you didn’t follow the first one. If you have some sewing experience and want to deepen your knowledge you can also start with the second course without doing the first. (the first is meant for (complete) beginners and this one for advanced beginners).
With this course you can learn the most important sewing techniques in a more structured way. In this course you will learn these techniques by making samples. Learn to create the perfect lapelle, advanced pocket, bias binding and placket etc. This is an 8‑week course on Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
Overview of topics in this course:
Lesson 1: Pleats and tucks
Lesson 2: Jeans / trouser slash pockets plus coin pocket addition
Lesson 3: Bias-bound seams & bias binding for armholes and necklines
Lesson 4: Fly & blind zipper
Lesson 5: Sleeve shirt placket & skirt vent
Lesson 6: Hidden button placket with buttonholes
Lesson 7: Lapelled collar with facings
Lesson 8: Welt pocket with an optional added flap
What we provide:
- 8 lessons of professional guidance by fashion designer Elze (Tuesdays) or Ana (Wednesdays)
- All tools necessary (sewing machine, scissors, pins, etc.).
- Tea & cookies during lessons.
- Materials like fabric, zippers, interfacing
- E‑book made by De Steek with all exercises and techniques detailed explained per lesson
