Almost all Susy Cyclewear products are produced with care in Poland. Cycling socks are made in the Czech Republic and arm warmers in Portugal. Most of the fabrics Susy Cyclewear uses are also sourced in Europe.

European labor rules and laws are strict. Therefore, COSH! can assume that the products are made in ethical conditions.

Susy Cyclewear places great importance on the quality of their products. All fabrics, zippers and chamois are carefully sourced from quality and sustainable suppliers from Europe. The fabrics comply with REACH standards and European legislation. This means that the products do not contain any harmful chemicals.

The fabrics are mainly made of polyamide and polyester, often combined with elastane. The use of synthetic materials such as polyamide and elastane is necessary in sportswear. These materials provide quality, comfort and elasticity in clothing. To improve their sustainability, Susy Cyclewear also works with recycled polyamide, reducing the need for new raw materials.

Some items in the Susy Cyclewear collection are made from recycled materials. Still, the collection is not 100% circular. To ensure the comfort of the clothing, the polyester or polyamide must always be combined with elastane. This provides more stretch and flexibility, but at the same time it also makes the garment more difficult to recycle after use.

To still be more circular, Susy Cyclewear aims to use more and more materials made from sustainable recycled yarn in the coming years.

Almost all of Susy Cyclewear’s products have a short supply chain because they are made in Europe. Design is done in the Netherlands, several materials come from Italy and production is done in Poland, the Czech Republic and Portugal. Still, the length of the supply chain depends on the product itself, as some fabrics also come from Japan.

No animal materials are used in Susy Cyclewear’s cycling clothing. Thus, the brand is completely vegan. 

However, because the clothes are made from synthetic materials, this also has a downside for the environment. When synthetic clothes are washed, microplastics can be released. These then end up in waterways and oceans where they contribute to the waste problem. So this is harmful to humans and the environment and to many marine animals such as fish and seabirds. Quality is given the highest priority at Susy Cyclewear. All high quality materials are purchased with care from European suppliers. The materials are also always extensively tested to see if they remain beautiful after frequent use and washing. Comfort is always important, which is why Susy Cyclewear uses materials that fit well and dry quickly.

The designs are modern, feminine and sporty. Special attention is also paid to the fit, it is important that the clothing is perfectly tailored to the female body in a cycling position.
