COSH! in Retail Detail
Article by Paulien Neerman
COSH, a Belgian tool for finding sustainable fashion addresses, receives a subsidy of 15,000 euros from the City of Antwerp. This will enable the platform to be launched in the city in the near future.
Guide to sustainable Antwerp
COSH, with the slogan ‘conscious shopping made easy’, wants to be quite literally a guide that helps consumers to buy sustainable fashion in Antwerp and elsewhere. Users can use the online platform to find stores that offer what they are looking for, from fair trade to vegan. The offer can also be filtered by budget, clothing size and style.
Ultimately, the idea is that the list of addresses can then be poured into a route planner, so that shoppers get their own personal shopping route through each Belgian fashion city. “Retailers from all over Belgium have already signed up and more retailers can contact us”, explains founder and sustainability consultant Niki de Schryver, who is working hard on the national roll-out of COSH!
“Antwerp attaches great importance to sustainability. That’s why we encourage and support creative ideas that get to work on that topic”, Tom Meeuws, alderman for the environment, explains to Knack Weekend. The initiative also received support from Flanders Circular, accelerator startit@KBC (KBC is something else), EU Interreg Protopitch 3.0, Voka and Flanders Investment & Trade, among others.
