Ton­ny Van Bavel and Anne Hil­den first foun­ded Super­goods Mechelen with fair­ness and 100% trans­pa­ren­cy as their gui­ding prin­ci­ples. A brand has to meet cer­tain sus­tainable con­di­ti­ons to end up in Super­goods. For exam­p­le, the enti­re coll­ec­tion must be pro­du­ced from orga­nic or recy­cled mate­ri­als, and the pro­duc­tion pro­cess and working con­di­ti­ons must be cer­ti­fied or manu­fac­tu­red in Euro­pe. Super­goods also sel­ects body and skin­ca­re pro­ducts accor­ding to the same con­di­ti­ons. In this way, Super­goods offers sus­tainable alter­na­ti­ves in all are­as to its customers.

Super­goods Ghent fits per­fect­ly with the Ghent allu­re. Olga Van Gen­ech­ten ope­ned a Super­goods’ fran­chise in Ghent on the Bra­bant­dam in 2016 – also a shop full of respon­si­ble clot­hing and access­ories. Olga drea­med for a long time of having her own bou­tique with con­tem­po­ra­ry honest clot­hing in Ghent. After her Mas­ter in Fashion, she gai­ned a lot of expe­ri­ence in the sus­tainable fashion sec­tor. She was acti­ve behind the sce­nes at Fair Fashion Fest Ghent and at Rank A Brand, an initia­ti­ve that char­ted the sus­taina­bi­li­ty of brands but cea­sed to exist in 2019.
