Rethink Rainwear
For people who like stay dry, there’s Maium. This Amsterdam brand was founded by two friends who were looking for a solution for the rainy days. Since their city is known as bicycle Walhalla, a coat from Maium really comes in handy. This raincoat is, in fact, ideal for a bike ride through the raindrops. The jacket can be widened on the side and pulled over the handlebars. This way your hands and legs can’t get wet either. How convenient is that!
A little more durable every year
By winter 2020, Maium’s regular raincoat is made from 85% recycled PET and 15% PU and the puffy winter jacket consists of 90% recycled polyester, the padding included. Both functional raincoats have a Polyutheran coating. The waterproof materials also carry the following sustainability certificates: OekoTex which states that there are no harmful chemicals in the final product, and the GRS (Global Recycling Standard) which applauds their circular ambitions. In addition, Maium is also completely vegan as no animal products are used in its production.
Fair
The Chinese producer of Maium holds the BSCI certificate. The latter ensures good working conditions and a fair wage. To strengthen the relationship Maium visits the factory at least once a year to learn more about how and where the coats are produced, to discuss new designs and to work on even better cooperation.
Raincoats, body warmers, winter coats and bucket hats made from recycled PET can be found at Maium in Amsterdam. Look below where you can find this clothing brand.
