In her hometown Leuven, Wanne Van Hemelrijck creates unique pieces with a soul. With more than 15 years of experience behind the sewing machine, today she works almost exclusively with leftover materials and secondhand textiles. Her collection consists of jackets and bags made from old woollen blankets and interior fabrics. Each piece is unique and handmade.
Wanne once started sewing clothes for her children, and grew into a passionate maker with a clear mission: to design more consciously with what is already there. Besides new creations, she also does repairs and adjustments of forgotten garments that have been hanging in your closet for years.
She collaborates with local partners such as ViTeS and Buren zonder Grenzen to save materials from landfill. Her production is small-scale, more circular and local ‑ideal for those who want to consciously choose less waste and more value.
