Second-hand Chic: New Favourite Pieces from Old Clothes

Is your wardrobe full, but you’re short of new ideas? In this course, you’ll create unique new looks from clothes you already own. The focus isn’t on traditional alterations or repairs, but on the creative design process: shapes, details, combinations and your own design ideas transform unworn items into wearable, one-of-a-kind pieces. Over three evenings, you’ll learn to recognise the potential in your existing clothes, develop your own ideas and put them into practice straight away. The result is fashion with personality, created from what’s already hanging in your wardrobe and reflecting your own personal style, rather than off-the-peg items.

Suitable for beginners with some basic knowledge as well as for those with more advanced skills.

Sigrid Münzberg is a fashion designer, bespoke tailor and experienced workshop leader specialising in upcycled fashion. For many years, she has been teaching in a practical, humorous and accessible way how to turn existing clothes into individual favourite pieces.

This course spans several sessions.

• Dates: Thu 3 Sept 2026, Thu 10 Sept 2026, Thu 17 Sept 2026, 6.00 pm – 9.15 pm on each occasion
• Fee: €45.20 (concession: €27.50)
• Includes: 12 teaching units (45 mins) led by Sigrid Münzberg
• Please bring: A few old items of clothing and fabric offcuts, sewing supplies, pens and paper. Additional materials such as interfacing, ribbons or buttons are also useful.
