On September 22, ’23, it will be exactly one year ago that Ella Brouwer launched her sustainable fashion label el.résidu in a pop-up store on Herenstraat in Amsterdam. To celebrate this, Ella is organizing another pop-up event from September 22nd to 24th, this time at Zeedijk 54 in Amsterdam.
The brand el.résidu – which literally means ‘residues’ or ‘unused’ – exclusively utilizes vintage fabrics or materials leftover from other productions, known as ‘dead stock.’ Ella aims to contribute to reducing the massive textile waste pile in this manner. In the Netherlands alone, more than 135 million kilograms of textiles are discarded annually, with only 1% being recycled. It’s high time for a different approach.
