In this two-day masterclass you can learn different appliqué techniques that teacher Eloïse applies within her narrative textile art practice. You will first make a sample of these textile surfaces and application techniques, including: blanket stitch application, needle twist application, reverse application and couching. Once you’ve mastered these elements, you’re invited to upcycle and embellish one of your own garments at home using these new techniques you’ve learned.
The workshop starts with a short presentation of Eloïse’s work, history, inspirations, as well as her recent take on the Chilean “Arpillera” patchwork process in her new work. Paper instructions are also provided during the course.
