Many of you may know the tea towels by Foekje Fleur. Her colour combinations have inspired me since she started Odds & Ends, and I kept thinking this fabric should be made into a suit.
Last summer, while visiting my stockist PUHA in Utrecht, I couldn’t stop talking about this idea. Taam, the owner of the store, connected Foekje and me, and it turned out to be perfect timing. Foekje loved the idea and had just received a batch of 70 rejected Odds & Ends tablecloths.
And now Odds & Ends is something you can wear!
Odds & Ends is Foekje’s ongoing project in which leftover yarns from the textile industry are woven into colourful household textiles. Factories always have surplus yarn after dyeing and in this project those materials are transformed into new textiles with unexpected and beautiful colour combinations.
These 70 rejected tablecloths, imperfect but full of potential, would otherwise have become leftovers again. Instead, they became the starting point for a small, limited collection of four wearable A • Brandsma pieces, and oh my, we love them!
The tablecloths will turn into four of our favourite designs:
- A • BLOUSE _an angle sleeve
- A • PAIR OF SHORTS _a twisted leg
- A • SHIRT _a twisted arm
- A • BOMBER _an angle sleev
This collection comes from one single leftover batch, so it is available only while the fabric lasts.
At the launches at our stockists there will be a small in‑store stock and full fit samples. Once the stock runs out, you can pre‑order your favourite piece on the spot.
This way we use every tablecloth as carefully as possible and we make sure there are no leftovers of leftovers of leftovers.
