According to the Ray website, all products are developed and manufactured in the brand’s own laboratory by Hilde Nys and her team in Nazareth, Belgium.

Working conditions & living wages

Since production takes place entirely in Belgium, strict European labour laws apply.

Ray owns its production facility, which means short distances between development, production and quality control.

Ray states that it uses exclusively ingredients of natural origin with scientifically proven efficacy. According to the brand, each ingredient is individually assessed for potential endocrine-disrupting, carcinogenic, mutagenic, irritating and pigment-disrupting properties. In doing so, Ray follows the EU ED lists for endocrine disruptors and the CMR list of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Substances that appear on the EU watchlists are, according to Ray, consistently avoided.

Packaging

Ray provides no information on which packaging materials are used for products and e‑commerce shipping.

Water and chemical management

Ray states that it tests all products for potential biodegradability. However, the brand does not publish certificates or test data to support this claim.

No information is available on water consumption during production or raw material extraction.

For selected products, Ray offers refill packs. This allows customers to reuse the original containers multiple times, reducing packaging consumption.

From development through production to filling, all of Ray’s processes take place in Belgium. The origin of the raw materials, however, remains unknown.

Transport

Product design

Ray develops skin and hair care for daily use: facial care, anti-ageing, products for acne-prone skin, sun protection, self-tanner as well as body and hair care.

The facial products are completely fragrance-free and, according to the brand, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.

Transparency at product level

On every product page, Ray publishes the full INCI list, explains the effect of the key ingredients and references the scientific sources (ED lists, ECHA).

The Belgian production location is communicated openly. There is no traceability of individual products back to the raw material source.

Ray is transparent about its own development and production in Nazareth, and explains the three selection criteria for ingredients. However, the brand does not publish any information on suppliers or raw material origin.
