WORKING CONDITIONS & LIVING WAGES

LANA produces exclusively in Europe and Turkey, where stricter legal labour standards apply. 

The majority of the collection is GOTS-certified, which means that social and ecological standards must be adhered to along the entire supply chain. These include living wages, safe working conditions and a ban on forced and child labour.

Processing takes place in GOTS-certified factories in Poland, Lithuania and Turkey, where the fabrics are cut, sewn and washed. Knitwear production also takes place in Germany, Portugal and Lithuania.

The company does not have its own production facilities, but maintains direct contact with its suppliers and has been working with the same partner companies for many years. With its own in-house pattern sewing facility in Aachen, LANA can develop patterns and cuts itself, which not only improves quality assurance but also reduces transport routes and CO₂ emissions.

LANA Organic mainly uses pure natural fibres and only adds a small amount of elastane in selected textiles to ensure better elasticity and comfort.

PACKAGING

LANA does not use plastic bags along the entire supply chain and instead relies on FSC-certified paper banderoles for secure storage and shipping. 

Orders from the online shop are sent in a minimalist shipping bag containing only the product, a returns label and a returns slip.

WATER USAGE & CHEMICALS

LANA does not use chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, dyes containing heavy metals or carcinogenic AZO dyes in its dyeing and finishing processes. 

Instead, the brand uses oxygen-based bleaching processes and more environmentally friendly dyes to reduce skin irritation and environmental pollution.

CIRCULAR PRODUCT DESIGN

LANA Organic endeavours to keep the use of elastane as low as possible, which is positive for the circularity of the products. The company mainly uses mono-materials made from natural fibres, including organic cotton, organic wool, hemp, linen, TENCEL™ and Lenzing™ EcoVero™ viscose. 

LANA Organic provides practical online tips on caring for and repairing clothing. 

CIRCULAR BUSINESS MODELS 

LANA Organic does not offer an official repair service. Instead, the brand encourages customers to repair minor damage themselves. For wool products, LANA provides care instructions to reduce pilling and extend the life of the garment.

LANA Organic does not pursue a rental, resale or take-back model. 

The focus is on high-quality, durable materials and timeless design to promote a long service life.

• In e‑commerce, goods are transported exclusively by land. 
• Within the supply chain, goods are generally transported by land, with a few exceptions by air freight.

The label sources its kbT wool from yarn suppliers in Germany, who in turn source wool from New Zealand and South America.

In the case of suppliers of conventional wool, for example from Tuscany, the wool also comes from various countries, which are not explained in detail.

However, the brand emphasises that strict animal welfare standards are adhered to, in that sense, the wool is mulesing-free. 

A large part of the collection is PETA-certified, which means that many products do not contain any animal ingredients and are therefore vegan.

PRODUCT DESIGN 

LANA Organic stands for timeless fashion with classic cuts that remain independent of trends. The collections for women and babies are designed to be durable and comfortable so that they can be worn for years to come.

The women’s line includes tops, blouses, jumpers, dresses, skirts, trousers, jumpsuits, jackets, coats, nightwear and accessories, while the baby collection includes rompers, bodies, shirts, jumpers, jackets, trousers, leggings, blankets, sleeping bags and cuddly toys. 

Thanks to the use of high-quality natural fibres, the garments are characterised by their consistent shape, high quality and durability – for timeless fashion that will give pleasure for many years to come.

LANA Organic brings out two collections per year.

TRANSPARENCY ON PRODUCT 

LANA Organic provides detailed information on design and fit, material composition, certifications and sizing on the product pages to enable a more conscious purchasing decision.

LANA Organic does not provide any specific information on the exact production locations of individual items on the product pages. However, it is communicated that the textiles are produced in Germany, Portugal, Lithuania, Poland, Italy and Turkey. There is no direct traceability of the production location for the individual product purchased.

TRANSPARENCY ON PROCESSES

LANA Organic provides a general overview of production countries and certifications on its website. The brand names its production sites (Germany, Portugal, Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Turkey) and emphasises that it works with long-standing partner companies. 

The information on production sites is only generally available on the website, but not for individual products. 

There is no published annual sustainability report containing detailed data on the brand’s social or environmental impact. The information on sustainability is limited to the website, with certifications such as GOTS and PETA-approved vegan serving as proof of environmental and social standards.
