Bareaya

Bareaya is a French brand, based in Occitania. All orders are therefore shipped from France. In the webshop, you can find the place of production for each product. The shavers are made in China in a small workshop of 18 people that the brand controlled itself and that is also BSCI verified. BSCI is the global benchmark for assessing working conditions. The bamboo cutlery, reusable makeup remover cotton pads and shaving brush are also produced in China. The soap is handmade in France. The wooden toothbrush is also made in France. 

At Bareaya, they want to take responsibility to bring change to the pressing issues facing our planet. The brand is therefore a member of 1% For The Planet, which means that 1% of all sales are donated to environmental conservation and restoration. 

Bareaya uses as many natural and biodegradable materials as possible. And no plastic. The reusable makeup remover cotton pads are made from organic cotton. They have cutlery made of bamboo and straws made of stainless steel. Only the shaving brush uses synthetic bristles. The soaps consist partly of organic ingredients and do not contain palm oil, perfume and parabens. The razors have handles made of brass and zinc alloy. 

Packaging

All packages are shipped without plastic. The products are packed either naked (with a small label) or in a recyclable box. They are protected by kraft paper. The shipping box is made exclusively of cardboard and sealed with adhesive tape made of recyclable paper. At COSH! we definitely encourage this type of plastic-free shipping!

All products are shipped from France. Because each product varies where it is produced, the supply chain may also vary from one product to another. However, most products are made in China, which unfortunately lengthens the chain considerably. 

All of this brand’s products are completely vegan!

Longevity & vision of the brand

Bareaya offers unisex designs for both men and women. The products are designed to combine aesthetics and durability. Corrosion-resistant materials were chosen for the razors to keep the risk of rust low. The brand does provide tips on how to make the products last as long as possible, such as by keeping it dry. If you take good care of it, your razor will last a lifetime and should be the only one you ever buy. That sounds great!

At COSH! we think it’s super that Bareaya communicates for each product what material it is made of and where it is made. We can appreciate this transparency. However, it would be helpful if the website would also have a general sustainability page, so that it is clear to the consumer what the company does in terms of sustainability and ethics.
