WORKING CONDITIONS & WAGES
The label produces handmade knitwear in Brussels, crafted by local women. This results in a very short and transparent supply chain, minimising risks such as unsafe working conditions or long transport routes. Contact with the women who make the knitwear is direct and personal.
The pieces are made by hand and in small quantities.
MATERIALS
- Wool
- Acrylic
- Organza
- Vintage blazers
For the knitted pieces, ADN Street uses a wool and acrylic blend. Read more about blended fibres here.
In one of the collections, the label uses upcycled vintage blazers, which is more resource-efficient and extends the lifespan of existing materials.
PACKAGING
- The label uses recycled cardboard boxes as well as film.
- Transport within the supply chain is minimal.
WATER USAGE & CHEMICALS
The use of acrylic fibres poses a potential risk of microplastic emissions during washing.
CIRCULAR PRODUCT DESIGN
Nadia uses a wool and acrylic blend for the knitted pieces, making the products harder to recycle due to the combination of natural and synthetic fibres.
The upcycled pieces extend the lifecycle of existing textiles, but are also more difficult to recycle due to mixed materials.
A take-back service for worn garments does not currently exist. The label does, however, offer its own alteration service.
Knitwear is guaranteed against damage for three months, after which repairs become chargeable.
With the purchase of a leather jacket, a free leather care service is included after one year.
CIRCULAR BUSINESS MODEL
ADN Street offers its own alteration service and provides a three-month damage guarantee on knitwear, as well as a free leather care service after one year for leather jackets. A take-back service does not exist.
SUPPLY CHAIN DISTANCE & COMPLEXITY
- Belgium
- The label is based in Brussels, Belgium.
TRANSPORT
Transport within the supply chain is minimal. ADN Street works with carriers such as DHL, UPS, DPD and Bpost, with the provider varying depending on the destination country.
- Wool (currently approx. 20% in the blended fibre for knitted pieces)
ADN Street uses yarns with 20% wool and 80% acrylic, sourced from retail. The acrylic component comes from China, while the origin of the wool cannot be traced. ADN Street states that it is looking for a better solution.
PRODUCT DESIGN
ADN Street targets primarily women, with a range of nightwear, prêt-à-porter, knitted pieces and upcycled items. The collections are produced in small runs and are characterised by colourful designs and a mix of classic and playful elements.
SLOW FASHION PROCESSES
The label launches two collections a year.
PRODUCT TRANSPARENCY
There is currently no website and therefore no product pages.
PROCESS TRANSPARENCY
As there is no website, there is no product-specific traceability. Communication and exchange instead take place on request or on a personal basis, which allows for transparency through direct contact.
