Saskia Shutt has been creating unique jewellery for more than twenty-five years, always in close consultation with her customers. In her studio in a side street of Brussels’ Dansaert district, stories come to life in Fairmined gold, Fairmined silver, platinum and precious gemstones. Each piece is carefully thought out, handmade and bears her signature: subtle, powerful and with a clear message.
She works exclusively to order and also creates new pieces from old gold or heirlooms. In this way, she gives forgotten jewellery a second life, in a way that is both emotionally and aesthetically pleasing.
As a Fairmined goldsmith, Saskia is actively committed to improving artisanal and small-scale mining, including through the NGO Diamonds for Peace. She has visited mining communities in Peru, Colombia and Liberia herself and supports local projects related to sanitation, beekeeping, and reforestation.
By choosing a piece of jewellery from Saskia, you are contributing to a world in which jewellery is not only beautiful, but also made fairly and responsibly.
Her studio choices are also well-thought-out: from natural citric acid for cleaning to FSC-certified packaging and business cards made from cotton waste!
The designs on her website are not just jewellery. Each one is an artistic statement, some even selected for design exhibitions in Milan, Venice, New York and Chicago.
