AORI studio was founded by Jeanne, who creates handcrafted coats in collaboration with local artisans in Jaipur, India. The expressive pieces combine aura, poetry and high-quality textile creation.
AORI offers both ready-to-wear jackets and the option to have a personalised jacket made to measure. Each jacket tells a story, woven with craftsmanship and cultural history. The jackets are reversible and can therefore be worn in two ways. A versatile addition to your wardrobe!
Each piece is handmade from colourful kantha fabrics. Which are traditional Bengali quilts, composed of multiple layers of old, reused fabrics. The stitching consists of embroidered patterns, combined with top-stitching in colours that complement the background fabric. Originally, kantha cloths were made by women for use in their own homes as bedcovers, mats and all-purpose wrappers
The shape of AORI’s jacket design is based on a specific design characteristic of the Rajasthan region in India.
AORI exclusively collaborates with an atelier in Jaipur, where the entire manufacturing process, from design to embroidery and finishing, takes place. Jeanne regularly visits the workshop. The designs are created in partnership with Heena and Agrima, renowned for their expertise in embroidery.
With AORI’s commitment to using reclaimed materials and respect for local craftsmanship, the label contributes to a fashion industry with greater awareness of people and materials.
