Karma Markt

Karmamarkt is a zero-waste shop in the centre of Bruges which Isabelle, the owner, founded to fulfill 5 core values: health, sustainability, relaxation, meeting, education. The idea here is that you buy dry foods without packaging by bringing your own jars in with you. This is both better for the planet and your wallet! All you need is some reusable containers which you can bring with you, or are available to buy there. 

Karma Markt stocks everything you need in your pantry from rice and eggs to oils and nuts, and even beeswax wraps. The foods are all organic and local when possible. Isabelle is very intent on supporting local business because it’s better for the planet and often cheaper! The local suppliers tend to deliver their products themselves which Isabelle is very proud of. This also reduces the need for loads of packaging which is something we really respect here at COSH!. If you prefer to use natural beauty products without the plastic packaging then browse the broad selection of shampoo bars, solid toothpastes and so much more. Isabelle has also set up a cosy reading nook which is the perfect place to spend a few hours relaxing and learning about zero-waste living or just enjoying a good book. If you’re lucky there’ll be a fresh pastry in the fridge for you to devour… Isabelle also hosts a range of events in her space such as yoga or self-care workshops.
