WONDR bars are lovingly made in Brussels, Belgium, according to the brand. WONDR is a socially engaged brand that works with several day care centers throughout Flanders. All bars are packaged by socially vulnerable groups.
WONDR uses only pure, natural ingredients in the bars, such as castor oil, aloe vera, sunflower oil, coconut oil and sea salt. The bars produce a creamy lather due to the SCI contained in them. SCI is a mild foam maker based on coconut fatty acids that is as effective as its chemical brothers SLS and SCS, but many times gentler on your scalp and the environment. In addition, all WONDR products are free of palm oil, sulfates, preservatives, silicones and plastics. And as for adding water to shampoo when it just comes out of the tap? Totally illogical and pure waste! So the brand doesn’t do that either.
The brand commits to various issues around sustainability every year. For example, they planted 365 trees during their Green Week campaign. In addition, the brand has had a partnership with the organization River Cleanup, collecting one kilo of plastic from rivers for every order over 40 euros.
WONDR bars are 100% plastic free. With each bar, you save at least 3 – 4 plastic bottles. The packaging consists of a beautiful compact box made of recycled cardboard.
The bars are produced in Brussels. Where the ingredients come from, however, is unknown. Because of this, we at COSH! unfortunately cannot make a good estimate of how long the total chain is.
Liquid shampoo or shower gels contain up to 80% water. WONDR’s solid bars, on the other hand, are nice and compact and therefore super efficient to transport! This in turn saves a lot of CO2 emissions.
The WONDR bars are cruelty-free and vegan!
The brand’s products last a long time. For example, one shampoo bar replaces as many as three shampoo bottles. Moreover, you only need to rub the soap bar for a few seconds to make it lather. Because of the round tops on the top of the bar, you enjoy conditioning and massage in one!
Furthermore, we at COSH! were very happy to learn that nothing will be sold online on Black Friday. “All screens go black. Because that day has a huge social impact on mail processing and mass consumerism, Black Friday is actually not sustainable at all.
WONDR seems to be a brand with a clear mission: to make quality products that are kind to people and to the environment. They show that they are working hard with their natural and plastic-free products. We at COSH regret that the brand is not very open about the suppliers of the ingredients. This makes it harder to assess the working conditions and the length of the chain.
Conclusion
The team at WONDR believed that things could be different. That we could take wonderful care of ourselves without worry. So they took up the challenge. Curious about the end result? Then check out the outlets for the natural and massaging WONDR bars below.
