Atelier Judith van den Berg, located in Arnhem’s bustling fashion district, offers handmade leather bags and accessories. Judith van den Berg, a graduate of Artez University of the Arts, launched her brand in 2011. The atelier is open three days a week, from Thursday to Saturday.
In the atelier, bags and accessories are made from high-quality leathers, carefully selected by Judith from local suppliers. Many of these high-quality leathers are remnants, or slightly damaged hides that would otherwise be discarded. Because Judith makes all the products herself, she is able to assess the hides on a piece-by-piece basis and cut around any damaged parts. This way, the skins can all still be made into beautiful new bags and accessories.
Some of the leather also comes from tanneries in Italy , including the beautiful vegetable-tanned leather that some of the bags in the collection are made from.
Judith is committed to maximising the reuse of leftover materials in new designs. In this way the remaining leftover pieces are given to Artez school students for their projects.
Her designs are known for their minimalism and functionality. The bags are timeless and versatile, without unnecessary details. A popular design is the fanny pack, which is both stylish and practical.
At Atelier Judith van den Berg you will find a wide range of bags, varying in size and function. The store in Arnhem sells unique colours of bags and accessories, due to the use of leftover leather. The webshop in turn, offers a fixed assortment of models and colours. You can always contact them through the website to inquire about the current stock in the store.
Stop by the atelier or visit the website and discover the beautiful designs of Atelier Judith van den Berg for yourself!
