Did you know that only 1% of global clothing production is made from discarded clothing? The innovative, circular clothing brand Loop.a life has been working on changing this since 2015. The Dutch fashion brand was founded by Ellen Mensink.
At Loop.a life they make yarns from old or discarded clothing that would otherwise end up on the waste mountains and/or will be burned. The fabrics are sorted by colour and material and then made into new yarns that no longer need to be dyed. This saves a lot of water and chemicals. The entire process takes place in Europe under good working conditions. As a result, Loop.a life’s clothing is not only sustainable and circular, but also produced in a fair way.
In the collection you’ll mainly find natural materials such as recycled wool and recycled cotton, but also recycled denim from PET bottles. To make the yarns as strong as possible, the recycled yarns are mixed with sustainable fibres or industrial waste.
