Did you know that only 1% of glo­bal clot­hing pro­duc­tion is made from dis­card­ed clot­hing? The inno­va­ti­ve, cir­cu­lar clot­hing brand Loop.a life has been working on chan­ging this sin­ce 2015. The Dutch fashion brand was foun­ded by Ellen Mensink.

At Loop.a life they make yarns from old or dis­card­ed clot­hing that would other­wi­se end up on the was­te moun­ta­ins and/​or will be bur­ned. The fabrics are sor­ted by colour and mate­ri­al and then made into new yarns that no lon­ger need to be dyed. This saves a lot of water and che­mi­cals. The enti­re pro­cess takes place in Euro­pe under good working con­di­ti­ons. As a result, Loop.a life’s clot­hing is not only sus­tainable and cir­cu­lar, but also pro­du­ced in a fair way.

In the coll­ec­tion you’ll main­ly find natu­ral mate­ri­als such as recy­cled wool and recy­cled cot­ton, but also recy­cled den­im from PET bot­t­les. To make the yarns as strong as pos­si­ble, the recy­cled yarns are mixed with sus­tainable fibres or indus­tri­al waste.
