In Loppem (Zedelgem) you find the clothing shop Machteld. Founded by Machteld and later supported by her husband Luc de Maeght. Both have been active in the fashion industry for years and are very passionate about clothing. Even more, fashion and design runs in Luc’s blood.
Machteld has a wide range of women’s and men’s clothing and the store radiates class and tranquillity. Sustainability is not directly communicated by the shop, but for Luc de Maeght this is certainly a top priority. He previously developed a unique ecological washing process for a Belgian jeans brand, and sustainability is also central to his new own brand, Share the Passion. Share the Passion sells sustainable mouth masks, homewear and shoes. The white blank sneakers of the brand can be personalised with a design from Luc himself. This way you have unique, sustainable sneakers.
In the store, you can also find organic cotton T‑shirts by Paul Smith, and the sustainable Bask in the Sun. You’ll also find Xacus, an Italian brand that sells 2 lines of GOTS certified shirts and shirts from recycled Japanese fishing nets.
Machteld also offers you timeless Belgian clothing labels such as Dame Blanche, Just in Case, Julia June, and Liv the Label. In short, you have a wide choice of quality clothing at Machteld.
Are you looking for an everyday suit to wear at work or are you looking for something more sophisticated such as a wedding suit? At Machteld, they always make sure that you look confident and perfectly styled.
The shop is easily accessible by both public transport and by car. A nice addition: if you come with an electric car, you can quickly charge it at the car park during your visit. It is also important that the shop is fully wheelchair accessible!
The Machteld team welcomes everyone with open arms. Thanks to the friendly team, you always go outside with a big smile and a nice purchase.
