The textile industry is one of the most environmentally damaging sectors in the world and contributes significantly to water pollution and water scarcity in production countries. In addition to the production process itself, the washing and improper disposal of worn clothing also pollute waterways with chemicals and microfibres.
The documentary film RIVERBLUE accompanies the environmentalist Mark Angelo on his journey around the world and shows the devastating effects of textile production on our rivers and humanity. At the same time, the film presents solutions that offer hope for a sustainable future. The film raises awareness of the destruction of some of the most important rivers by the fashion industry and appeals to major fashion brands to implement urgently needed changes.
