Handmade Jewellery for the Festive Season
On Saturday 21 November, goldsmith Katja Voscht brings Atelier Kleine Verzierung to the annual Christmas market at the Schmittmann distillery in Düsseldorf-Niederkassel. The distillery has been run by the Schmittmann family for six generations, and its small Christmas market has long been a local favourite.
Every piece by Kleine Verzierung is made by hand by Katja herself in her atelier on the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf. At her stand, you’ll find rings, pendants and earrings in silver and gold-plated silver, some set with stones such as citrine, chalcedony and rose quartz.
The market is also a good chance to talk to Katja directly. Besides her own collection, she specialises in bespoke pieces, remodelling and repairs. If you have an inherited ring or an old piece you no longer wear, you can ask how it could become something new. That makes it a personal gift idea for the season.
Can’t make it on Saturday? You’ll also find Kleine Verzierung at the Makers Market on the Areal Böhler on 28 and 29 November, or by appointment at the atelier.
